Job Description:

This position will have responsibility for ensuring that all quality requirements are monitored and analyzed in order to optimize process and production efficiencies, and to ensure adherence to all customer specifications.

Privately held regional flexible packaging converter in Eastern PA.   

Organization:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring conformance to specification requirements, which includes management of the “hold” process and authorization for return of goods from customers. 

  • Analyze data to determine the top causes of quality issues, with development of an action plan to address the items.  Ultimately the Quality Manager is responsible for implementing the changes needed. 

  • Development and oversight of a formal Root Cause & Corrective Action process, including responses to customers and for internal/manufacturing issues

  • Preparation for customer and third-party audits, serving as “point person” during audits.

  • Analyze data for optimizing production efficiencies and manufacturing specifications

  • Oversee the use, calibration, and maintenance schedules of all lab equipment

  • Development and validation of test methods to meet customer requirements, which may include MSA (measurement systems analysis) methodology.

  • Document Control for facility’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Manual

  • Update, modify, and create departmental SOPs

  • Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)

    • Employee Health and Safety

    • AIB and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.

    • SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory compliance.

Skills, Experience, and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Package Engineering or related field required, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in packaging field in a Quality Supervisory or Management function.

  • Minimum of 3 years supervising quality deptartment employees.

  • ASQ or CMQ/OE certification is desired.

  • Prior experience in food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods packaging company/facilities.

  • Prior experience leading development or revitalization of QA programs
